Lap Steel

Photo of Lap Steel

This one has been dropped in price as the headstock has tilted up about 3 degrees. It’s been like this for a few weeks now and seems to have settled. It of course, plays absolutely fine but I couldn’t in all good conscience sell at full price (£229).

The first Treadstone Lap Steel. 😊
Found a big, long plank of wood whilst in Exmoor, and the only thing I had to cut into two was my machete (as you do).
Bridge is a corroded Tele style, and the nut is a piece of aluminium from an old window frame.
Fret markets burned into place along with a melted orange crayon (this took an AGE to do!). The ‘neck’ pickup lines up with the 24 th fret.
This has been such a pain in the ass to make, but really pleased with how it turned out and I can’t stop playing it!
Twin pickups are switchable with volume and tone controls.
